Ivy's Amazing Helper Ladder

Ivy the iguana loved science more than anything. She always had fun doing experiments in class.
鬣蜥艾薇最喜歡科學了。她總是在課堂上做實驗時玩得很開心。
One day, Ms. Owl announced a school invention fair. "Create something to solve a problem in our school," she said.
有一天，貓頭鷹女士宣布學校要舉辦發明展。"創造一些東西來解決我們學校的問題，"她說。
Ivy thought hard about what to make. Then she saw her friend Eva the elephant struggling to reach a high shelf.
艾薇苦思冥想該做些什麼。然後她看到她的朋友大象伊娃正努力伸手去夠高處的書架。
"I've got it!" Ivy said excitedly. "I'll make something to help shorter students reach high places!"

For weeks, Ivy worked hard on her invention. She drew pictures of her ideas and tried building them.

Some of her first tries didn't work well. One was too wobbly, another too heavy to carry.

But Ivy didn't give up. She kept trying and making her invention better.

Finally, Ivy made something she thought might work. She called it the "Little Helper Ladder".

It was a light, foldable ladder with special arms that could grab things. Any student could carry it, and it was strong enough for heavy books.

On the day of the fair, Ivy felt nervous but excited. She watched as everyone looked at all the inventions.

When it was her turn to show her invention, Ivy took a deep breath. "Have you ever wanted to reach something but couldn't?" she asked. "Little Helper Ladder can help!"

She showed how easy it was to open the ladder and how the arms could grab things from high shelves.

The judges liked Ivy's invention very much. They asked her how she thought of the idea and how she made it.

Ivy told them about seeing her friend's problem and how she tried many times to get it right.
艾薇告訴他們她看到朋友的問題，以及她如何多次嘗試才做對。
At the end of the day, Ms. Owl announced the winners. Ivy held her breath and listened closely.
在一天結束時，貓頭鷹女士宣布獲獎者。艾薇屏住呼吸仔細聆聽。
"The first prize goes to… Ivy's Little Helper Ladder!" Ms. Owl said happily.
"一等獎授予…艾薇的小幫手梯子！"貓頭鷹女士高興地說。
Ivy was so happy! She had won! All her friends cheered for her.
艾薇非常高興！她贏了！所有的朋友都為她歡呼。
A week later, the school put Ivy's Little Helper Ladder in the library. Ivy felt proud watching students use it to get books from high shelves.
一週後，學校把艾薇的小幫手梯子放在了圖書館。艾薇看到學生們用它從高處的書架上取書時感到自豪。
Ivy learned that inventing isn't just about winning prizes. It's about helping others and solving problems.
艾薇明白了發明不僅僅是為了贏得獎項。它是關於幫助他人和解決問題。
As she walked home, Ivy was already thinking about her next invention. What other problems could she solve? She couldn't wait to find out!
