Grace's Great Garden Project

Grace the giraffe woke up feeling excited. Today was the day her class would start their school garden project!
長頸鹿格蕾絲醒來時感到興奮。今天是她的班級開始學校花園項目的日子！
She put on her favorite overalls and gardening gloves, ready to get her hands dirty.
她穿上最喜歡的工作服和園藝手套，準備弄髒她的手。
"Remember to drink plenty of water," her dad said, handing her a reusable water bottle. "Gardening can be hard work!"
"記得多喝水，"她爸爸說，遞給她一個可重複使用的水瓶。"園藝可是辛苦的工作！"
At school, Grace's teacher, Mr. Beaver, divided the class into teams. Each team would be responsible for a different part of the garden.

Grace was paired with her friend Eva the elephant. They were in charge of the vegetable section.

"First, we need to prepare the soil," Mr. Beaver explained, demonstrating how to use a trowel to dig and loosen the earth.

Grace and Eva worked together, carefully turning over the soil and removing any rocks or weeds they found.

"Now it's time to plant the seeds," Mr. Beaver said, holding up small packets. "Each team will get different types of seeds to plant."

Grace and Eva received tomato, carrot, and lettuce seeds. They carefully made small holes in the soil and gently placed the seeds inside.

"Remember to label your plants," Mr. Beaver reminded them. Grace used popsicle sticks to make small signs for each type of vegetable.

As they worked, Grace noticed that Eva seemed frustrated. "What's wrong?" she asked her friend.

Over the next few weeks, Grace and Eva visited their garden plot every day. They watered the soil, pulled out any weeds, and watched eagerly for any signs of growth.

Finally, the day came to harvest their crops. Grace and Eva carefully picked ripe tomatoes, pulled up crunchy carrots, and gathered leafy lettuce.

The class decided to use their home-grown vegetables to make a big salad for the whole school. Everyone was impressed by how delicious the fresh vegetables tasted.

As they enjoyed their salad, Grace turned to Eva. "See?" she said with a smile. "You're a great gardener after all."

Eva beamed with pride. "We both are," she said. "I can't wait to start our next gardening project!"

That evening, as Grace told her parents about the success of their garden, she realized that gardening had taught her more than just how to grow plants. She had learned about patience, teamwork, and the joy of nurturing something from seed to fruit.

As she drifted off to sleep, Grace dreamed of all the future gardens she would grow, filled with colorful flowers and delicious vegetables.
